"The crowd clearly thinks he won. I have to say: I did, too."

"Pacquiao seems to have few answers for the problems presented by a counter puncher with quickness and ring intelligence. 117-112 Marquez."
- Ron Borges, Boston Herald

"I scored it 116-112 for Marquez. CompuBox numbers all favor Pacquiao. I still thought Marquez was landing the cleaner punches. I really think if these guys fought ten more times, every round would be close. They are perfect foes."
- Chris Mannix, Sports Illustrated

"The Daily News scored it 116-112 for Marquez. Marquez was denied a victory when he was robbed of a decision by judges... It was one of the worst decisions in a big fight in recent memory."
- Tim Smith, New York Daily News

"Pacquiao's speed and footwork were in place, but Marquez stayed right with him. 115-113 Marquez."
- Bill Dwyre, Los Angeles Times

"My ringside scorecard disagreed: 117-113, Marquez."

"Final Score: Pacquiao 115 Marquez 116"
- Matt Hamilton, ES News Reporting

"Marquez landed far more of the flush, hard punches; he controlled the fight's pace, meaning he was the ring general; and he hurt Pacquiao, by Pacquiao's own admission. That's enough for me to have scored it for Marquez."
- Tim Stark, The Queensberry Rules

"115-113 Marquez"
- Nick Tylwalk, Boxing Watchers

"115-113. Marquez was masterful and won pretty handily."

Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Post Fight Press Conference After Interview

Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Post Fight Press Conference After Interview - Philippines News official Youtube channel has released the full after fight press interview of both Pacquiao and Marquez:

MANNY PACQUIAO POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER INTERVIEW

Interview: What is it about Marquez's style that 'cuased you so much difficulty?

Pacquiao: He's always backing off and he's waiting for me to create an action to counter. It's not easy, I'm very careful. I have to accept that it's not easy to fight Marquez, he's a good counterpuncher.

Interview: What is your reaction to the crowd and the audience? Clearly the majority felt that Marquez was the winner.

Pacquiao: I understand, we have to accept that because half of the fans are Filipinos, half of the fans are Mexicans for Marquez. Of course the fans of Marquez is very disappointed. We have to accept that that's part of the game. The fight is close but it's very clear that I won the fight even if you watch the replay. This is the game, this is the sport.

Interview: Freddie said you had cramps in your foot, how much did the cramps affected you?

Pacquiao: Starting the fourth round, I felt so bad. My balance is gone, that's why I'm like flying every time I threw punches. It's not the fight that I want.

JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER INTERVIEW

Marquez: Good night to everyone, and I'm happy about my performance of tonight, and honestly I don't know what I need to do to change the mind of the judges.

We’re very happy about my performance. What we need to do is to sit down with my family and with my camp, and make a decision to continue in this sport or just simply retire.

I would like everybody who came to the arena, this time we not only beat you in the ring, we beat you in the audience. There were more Mexicans than Filipinos and the people were rooting for me. I would like to thank all the Latin people around the world that supported this fight. We're very, very happy for the people who came and support us.

I would like to thank you that yes, it could happen. We won like the people were seeing in the 12 rounds. Yes we won, only three people there, the judges, didn't see the same thing.

Thank you very much, and Viva Mexico.

Interview: Are you more convinced that you win this fight more than the other two?

Marquez: I think I win this fight more clearly. I don't know what happened.

Interview: Would you accept a 4th fight with Manny Pacquiao?

Marquez: Everybody knows what happened, I think I won this fight again.

Interview: You mentioned retirement, did you know that you are retiring before this fight, or is that a result of this fight?

Marquez: Honestly, the result of the fight that makes me thinks of retirement because I prepared myself so hard. 18 years of my career, that I've been working very hard, this fight was the biggest fight. So we really wanted to tell the judges to score the fight the way it’s happening.

Interview: Do you feel that no matter what you do, that the judges will never give you a victory over Manny Pacquiao?

Marquez: I really feel that I need to drop him. And if I drop him they're going to give him the fight again. I don't know what to do inside the ring. I'm frustrated, very frustrated right now.

Interview: Do you feel like in the first two fights, he landed the harder punches and maybe tonight you we're landing the harder punches.

Marquez: For me the best judges are the audience and they respond sensationally seeing me winning. Honestly, I feel I connected with solid punches tonight. We each connected with solid punches in the last two fights. But tonight I connected a lot of solid punches.

Interview: Did you made any strategic in the fight that work this time from what you did in the first two times?

Marquez: Yes, I tried to make lot of changes for this preparation. I prepared myself differently, and also I changed a lot in my style to fight him this time. I was adjusting my style, every single round, to fight him differently.

Interview: Did he feel stronger as opposed to his two previous fights? Were you hurt in this fight?

Marquez: I felt that he was stronger in the last two fights. I feel good. I prepared myself for months for this fight. Honestly, I didn't feel his punches, and I was never hurt.

Interview: What do you think is it about your style that you are able to deal with him so well than bigger fighters like Margarito and Cotto, who are overwhelmed by them?

Marquez: I think you need to win the fight with intelligence and we fought very intelligent with this fight. Style makes fights. My style is complicated for his style.

Interview: You fought Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, how do you compare them? And if they did fight, what do you think will happen?

Marquez: I think commercially speaking, it would be a big fight. Boxing is about styles, and the style of Mayweather would be very complicated for Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Winner Result - Pacquiao Wins

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Winner Result - Pacquiao Wins - There are boxing opponents that were made for each other, the pure yin-yang matches. Ali vs Norton, Ali vs Frazier, Morales vs Barrera, Vasquez vs Marquez, Gatti vs Ward, now you can add Pacquiao vs Marquez to the list of great trilogies.

If you're a fan of either fighter, the rounds were filled with tense moments. Pacquiao being an offensive fighter pursued Marquez with aggressive boxing, while the defensive Marquez answered with counter-punching skills honed throughout his boxing career.

There are rounds where either of the fighter could have won, and when the fight result was announced, it feels like a deja vu of the 1st and 2nd fight, with two judges giving Pacquiao the win, while a draw was given by the last judge.

The Mexican fans of Marquez booed, and Marquez, walked out of the ring, giving his interview in the dugout instead.

Even if Marquez and Pacquiao fought again many times over, the fight result will be close every time, over and over again. But as the saying goes, all things must pass, and with that, ends the great rivalry of Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Replay and HighlightsManny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Replay and Highlights - The Official Youtube Channel of HBO and HBO Sports has released a series of recaps of Pacquiao and Marquez. If you never viewed the past two fights of these great boxers, then this is the place to start. This is a quick recap highlighting their previous meeting. Like all great trilogy, both ends in a controversy as to who really won.

PACQUIAO VS MARQUEZ 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Every trilogy needs a first act, and this 2004 fight doesn't disappoint. Juan Manuel Marquez was defending his world featherweight title against a Manny Pacquiao who had already won world titles in three lighter weight divisions. For this fight, a very popular Pacquiao was moving up in weight for the first time. Everyone was predicting a great fight, what they got was an all time classic.

Marquez who thought that fight was easy, was caught surprised, when he was knocked down three times by Pacquiao int the first round. It looks like Marquez is done, even Pacquiao thought the fight was over. But Marquez got back up, again and again.

Marquez's trainer, Nacho Berestein, wasn't surprised at the heart of his fighter. Juan Manuel has a lot courage, he got up, and he kept on counter-punching Pacquiao, frustrating Manny, and hurting him in a couple of rounds too. Marquez made a furious comeback, winning round after round, as the fight continued.

When it was over, both corners felt like they had reason to celebrate, but the bout is a draw.

HBO Boxing: Fights of the Decade - Marquez vs. Pacquiao I Highlights

HBO Boxing: Pacquiao-Marquez III: Recap of First Fight

PACQUIAO VS MARQUEZ 2 HIGHLIGHTS

The first fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez was a classic. It was a story that have everything: drama, controversy, and excitement. Everything except a decision, the bout is a draw. In the rematch both corners knew that they have to have different game plan if the next bout is to swing in their favor.

The stage was set, Pacquiao and Marquez, climb into the ring once again. During the first two rounds we're cautious but both look strong. But then in the third, Marquez was again knocked down. But again he got back up. Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach was having a bit of deja vu.

Manny Pacquiao was one of the toughest fighters who has ever laced up the gloves. But he does have a one small weakness - cuts. It took him two to three rounds to get back to the fight. By the end of the fight both men we're bloody, and it was looking like it was going to be another close decision.

Pacquiao would won, he was the new champ. Everyone knows that the rematch would be close, but most are surprised by how close. Manny Pacquiao was in the ropes by the 8th, and he was close to being defeated, but Marquez being defensive-minded missed the opportunity. Pacquiao won by one point because of the knockdown.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Weigh-in 2008 - 2011

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Weigh-in (2008 - 2011) - The recent weigh-in confirmed that compared to Marquez, Pacquiao is the bigger fighter in terms of weight. Manny has had a successful career in the welterweight, while Marquez best fight at this point of his age is lightweight. Juan's move should be to come in lighter than Pacquiao so as not to sacrifice speed for strength and muscle bulk. Marquez should try to use his ring intelligence and superb boxing skill rather than match Pacquiao's inborn athleticism.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez 3 Final Press Conference Las Vegas

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez 3 Final Press Conference Las Vegas - Smitty of SecondsOut Youtube channel was at the final press conference before the Saturday's Mega-Fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He interviews both fighters as well as Freddie Roach.

JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ INTERVIEW

Interviewer: Juan the difference in the first two fights, basically four knockdowns. Do you feel that if you stay off the canvas that you'll win this fight?

Marquez: I am very careful not to go down on the floor for this fight.

Interviewer: Are you training yourself or are you training for Manny Pacquiao?

Marquez: I'm trained hard for my speed. I have 26 years of boxing career, I changed everything, and I feel good.

Interviewer: How do you feel about the implementation of the weigh lifting, of the bulking up? Are you concerned that that could slow you down?

Marquez: I feel good.

Interviewer: One point separated you from two victories, basically over Manny Pacquiao. In some ways do you feel that kind of changed your life a little bit?

Marquez: Yes. But this fight is different, the important thing is not get knocked down. My job is to use my ring intelligence and experience.

Interviewer: And your prediction?

Marquez: I don't like predictions. I trained very hard and do my job on the ring.

MANNY PACQUIAO INTERVIEW

Interviewer: This training camp fair, good or great?

Pacquiao: In the training camp we did good. It's gonna be a good fight.

Interviewer: What are the major changes in Manny Pacquiao as a fighter from 2004 to now?

Pacquiao: I think its a big change, big difference compared to 2004, 2005, 7 years ago. I'm more experience now in boxing. My style is more developed.

Interviewer: The development of right hand, talk about the implementation.

Pacquiao: We work the right hand well, we master it, and we developed it.

Interviewer: The difference in the last 2 fights Marquez feel is the four knockdowns.

Pacquiao: Its different, but we don't know what will happen on Saturday, but we're ready.

Interviewer: Is he the best fighter you've ever faced in your opinion?

Pacquiao: It's hard to say right now. This is hard to compare to my previous fights that I had with Miguel Cotto, De la Hoya and somebody else.

Interviewer: Are you looking for a stoppage on Saturday night?

Pacquiao: No. I prepared myself to be 100 percent conditioned for the fight. If the knockout comes, it will come, and I think that's the bonus for the all the hard work that you did in the gym.

Interviewer: You're considered as one of the greatest warriors in boxing today. We just lost Joe Frazier, what do you think of him as a fighter?

Pacquiao: I think his name will remain. We won't forget his name in boxing, He put his name in the top. What we're gonna do is we'll pray, and condolence to his family.

FREDDIE ROACH INTERVIEW

Interviewer: Let's talk about training camp fair, good or great?

Freddie: Great.

Interviewer: What's so great about it?

Freddie: His motivation. He is very focus, excited, it feels like he has fire from day one.

Interviewer: Manny is bigger and better, while Juan is older and slower.

Freddie: True, and with all the muscle he puts on in the upper body, it will make him slower.

Interviewer: Why would a fighter do that, getting ready for the biggest fight of his life. At 38, do something that dramatic, I think that's not a good idea.

Freddie: It's good for us though. You don't put on muscle for counterpunching, you put on for strength power. He will come at us aggressively and that will be his downfall.

Interviewer: Are you preparing for Juan Manuel Marquez or are you just prepping your fighter to be in the best condition?

Freddie: A little bit of both. We take his style in consideration. He's a very intelligent fighter, he's very smart, and he adapts well. But the thing is Manny has become a much better fighter over the years.

Interviewer: Do you see a stoppage in this fight?

Freddie: Yeah. I don't think it will go 6 rounds.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez 3 24/7 Episode 3 HBO TV

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez 3 24/7 Episode 3 HBO TV - In the previous episode, in Hollywood California Manny Pacquiao's sparring partner absorbs the impact of his relentless training pace. While in Mexico City, Juan Manuel Marquez was looking to his new strength and conditioning coach to preserve his skills at a higher weight. And on the road, success has certainly transformed Pacquiao's purchasing power. In the gym, his approach is unaffected.

In a Mexican metropolis of 20 million people, it can be difficult to find places to stand out. However, Mexico's city plaza mall offers a place for prominence. The newest member of the mall's walk of fame is being inducted and its an honor Juan Manuel Marquez is proud to embrace. Marquez did not take his popularity for granted, by contrast. He views it as a responsibility, and he connects with as many fans as he can, before being escorted to the vehicle conspicuously awaiting him on the plaza.

In the Romanza gym, Marquez has a series of exercise drills that each pinpoints the most specific strength and conditioning objectives. Different has been the running theme throughout training camp, methods for bulking up in weight, ways to combat on the inevitable toll on speed and agility. A special feeling as Marquez headed for fight night.

A few miles away Marquez is headed for his own renewal, the lone element of his four years program that has been preserved. He concludes his day in solitude, inside a hyperbaric chamber, where pure oxygen is pumped into his lungs, which he said offers his old body a helpful boost.

In Pacquiao's camp at Hollywood California, in the city of big dreams and hard realities, a few block's west of the 101 freeway at the corner of the Santa Monica, the Wild Card Boxing Club is home to a full spectrum of all tinsel towns has to offer. This is the start of week 9 of Pacquiao's 10-week training camp for the Marquez bout. And as absorbed is the athlete of his workouts, he's not infallible to the occasional minor distraction. A woman who don a Pacquiao look-alike costume is a Hollywood tribute ringside. A few doors from the gym, is the Manny Pacquiao Merchandise & Tattoo Shop. Occasionally, the establishment proprietor, Manny Pacquiao, relaxes inside after training, happy to indulge in a post-workout meal and screen the compilation of his greatest hits that place on the television. Buboy Fernandez, is the last of Team Pacquiao to have a meteor tattoo, and said he thank Pacquiao for being there for him. Pacquiao's generosity is famous, even his sparring partner David Rodela was given a down payment for a house after David got married.

Each sparring partner represents a different of Marquez that Pacquiao may contend with on the fight night. Rey Beltran serves as the counter puncher employing a style that uses Pacquiao's natural aggression against him. Jaime Cavenar's sparring persona is just the opposite more tactics minded iteration of Marquez. Rodela meanwhile is about resilience, a Marquez trademark with which Pacquiao is familiar, having dropped his opponent four times in two fihts, only to watch him rise, each time. Manny Pacquiao is approaching this fight with a lot of fire in him. He is motivated to prove to the world that he has beaten Marquez in the past.
