Pacquiao vs Margarito Play by Play Round by Round - We're doing a live round by round of the fight. Check out this section, and reload for updates.
Round 1 - Dominant opening round from Manny Pacquiao, but the question now is whether Manny can hurt the iron-chinned Margarito. At this rate, he’ll wear him down, and this rate is sustainable. Manny takes the opening round without question.
Round 2 - Very close round, both guys showing what they can do offensively, and Manny having more issues with Margarito’s size and power. That uppercut from Margarito could be a very deadly weapon for the rest of the fight. VERY active round.
Round 3 - Pacquiao’s speed proves the difference this round. He’s landing nice, hard shots. Even though Margarito isn’t yet feeling them, this is the sort of work that can add up.
Round 4 - Manny Pacquiao, giving up five inches of height, 17 pounds, and 6 inches of reach, is now dominating. Margarito is falling out of this fight and getting hurt.
Round 5 - So far, this is a lot of fun to watch, but Pacquiao is simply too good, too fast for Magarito, and he clearly has the power to hurt his bigger opponent.
Round 6 - Margarito hurt Pacquiao to the body this round, but it wasn’t enough to pull it out. Manny HAS to stay off the ropes, or he can get in trouble. They know that.
Round 7 - Margarito just will not give up. He’s stalking, pressuring, and staying there. He’s also getting beaten up by Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao takes another round, mostly dominant, and Margarito is being pounded. His eye is nearly closed shut now.
Round 8 - Folks, this is not as one-sided as it might seem. This is an INCREDIBLE offensive display from both fighters.
Round 9 - Manny’s speed is banging Margarito up, and has shut his right eye. Manny landing more, throwing more, doing more.
Round 10 - Manny totally took him apart. Margarito says he can’t see between rounds. That was 57-to-9 for Manny in punches landed that round. Doctor checking on Margarito.
Round 11 - Referee Laurence Cole, takes a look, but then they go back into the fight. Manny with three hard shots! Manny to the body, then the head! What an amazing performance. For those who know Manny Pacquiao, THIS is amazing. He’s taking a much, much bigger man apart at the seams. Margarito can’t see anything coming at him. Pacquiao is too fast, too good, and too much. Just too damn much.
Round 12 - An easy 12th round and it was all over. Pacquiao walked away with his eighth title in eight weight classes after a dominant, unanimous decision on the scorecards. Against a much bigger opponent, Pacquiao showed off his speed en route to an impressive victory.

Again, Pacquaio pummeled Margarito with just about every punch in his arsenal. At a few points, Pacquaio backed to the ropes and let Margarito punch at him. Pacman, his face immaculate to Margarito's bloody mess, easily slipped out. Huge round for Pacquiao.

Margarito presses the action and gets Pacquiao on the ropes a nuber of times. His jab is more effective, but whenever Margarito preses the action, Pacquaio comes back with hooks and straight lefts. He survives the flurry to take another round, and Margarito's face looks more gruesome every three minutes.

The fighting is more aggressive now, and Margarito is cut up -- badly. Pacquiao, meanwhile, is still peppering Margarito with jabs and lefts to the body. He's in incredible condition, managing to show off his tremendous lateral movement. He's been brilliant so far, and unless Margarito can come up with a knockout, the Pacman is going to win this bout.

Pacquiao keeps landing jabs, straight lefts and right hooks, and Margarito's face is a mask of blood. The Pacman tallies 57 power shots to Margarito's nine that round. The question, now, is whether Margarito will be out for the 11th round.

Pacquiao is landing combinations almost at will, and he seems to be aiming for the knockout, but Margarito, even without much of a face left, keeps coming. Whenever he jabs, Pacquiao lands a terrific counter, including one eight-punch combination that prompts him to step to the side and look at the referee, almost as if he were pleading for him to stop the fight. The referee checks Margarito, who, as always, keeps coming. One more round for Margarito to land a totally improbable knockout, or else it's Pacquiao's belt.

The Pacman is circling like a whirling dervish, and to every Margarito jab, he launches an ungodly combination. He goes for the knockout, but can't quite put Margarito down. Still, this is his fight
